Use a quality lock on your storage unit door. Cheap locks will eventually stop working and have to be cut off. You have the option of purchasing your own lock or we provide a selection of quality locks for sale in our office.
Items you are not allowed to store
Common sense and state laws determine what may be stored in a self storage unit. You alone control access to your individual storage space; therefore, never store living creatures or organisms, dead animals or other carcasses, gasoline, oil, fuel or other flammable chemicals, explosives, fireworks or ammunition, corrosives, toxic or hazardous materials, asbestos or products containing asbestos, items having a noxious smell, controlled substances, prohibited weapons under state law, stolen property, or any other items illegal for self storage under any law. Remember to drain the fuel from gasoline engines before storage.
What you place in your unit is your sole responsibility. The storage facility (by law) cannot insure your property. We do, however, offer storage property insurance through a licensed broker for an additional charge. Other insurance options are: if you own a home, your homeowner’s insurance should cover the contents but you may have to notify your agent beforehand. Also, if you rent, renter’s insurance is a very cheap option. Please verify the details of your policy before storing your items.
Protect your stored belongings
First, place old pallets or 2×4’s under boxes and furniture in the storage unit to prevent them from drawing moisture from the concrete. In addition, leave a small air space between your items and the storage unit walls. Weather and temperatures fluctuate dramatically in our climate, so it is a good idea to cover furniture with plastic covers for additional protection. We recommend you use quality boxes and fill them to capacity; partially full or bulging containers may collapse or tip over. Fragile items should be wrapped with packing paper or bubble wrap (the ink will eventually come off old newspapers and may stain). Before renting, inspect the storage unit to insure that it is the right size and will be accessible for your specific needs.
New Interior Storage Option
As an option to our customers we provide storage units which are accessible through an exterior door and hallway system. In order to access these units, our site manager must be present (between the hours of 9am and 6pm or alternate time set by appointment) to unlock the hallway exterior doors. Each interior unit in these hallways has a second door which is secured by your own lock. In addition, each of these hallways have a security camera monitored in the office. There are no access doors from the backside of these buildings. We are the only storage facility in Cheyenne to offer this type of storage system!
Seasonal rotation storage
Sometimes a smaller self storage unit can meet your needs if you rotate its contents through the seasons. In the summer store your holiday decorations and in the winter store your summer lawn equipment and toys.
Save yourself money and space in your home or garage
Self-storage is a convenient and inexpensive way to store your belongings. Ask our storage manager to help you choose a size that best fits your needs. Unit rates are determined by the total size of the unit and while bigger costs more, it is less expensive on a square foot basis. An efficiently packed smaller space will always cost less than a large jumbled one. If you frequently use the space, a larger unit may be more convenient.
